Saturated v.s unsaturated fats pattern. These triglycerides are made up of three fatty acid chains attached (by dehydration synthesis) to a glycerol molecule. To tell which of these are saturated and which are unsaturated, you need only look at their chains; should they have a double carbon bond (a “cis” bond, to be specific) in any of its tails, that particular triglyceride will be unsaturated. Monounsaturated if there is only 1 kink, and polyunsaturated if there are more. If the kink count is at none, it is saturated.
New Pattern! Sorry it’s not science-y, my brain needed a break today :)
I had to actually do some research for this one - this is the cross between a wild type drosophila and one with dichaete type wings. I found this cross particularly interesting because in most crosses we expect the phenotypes of the parents to be produced by homozygous genotypes. However, the resulting cross between a dichaete and a wild type fly produces a 1:1 ratio of the aforementioned phenotypes (no sex-link), and the F2 generation is the same. It didn’t seem to follow the basic dominant-recessive pattern, and it turned out that the genotype for a dichaete-winged fly is heterozygous (pictured “DW” above), and the homozygous DD trait is lethal. The cross between the WW and DW results each time in a 1:1 ratio.
DNA REPLICATION DRESS!!! I struggled with how to make this one for a long time, and now that it’s done I feel magical :)
Includes helicase, DNA polymerase, ligase, okazaki fragments, leading strands, etc…
New Pattern! H-bonds of water - sorry to the chem nerds, some of the ions have bonds to more than one molecule, but I don’t think it’s a big problem since those bonds are always breaking and forming new bonds with other water molecules anyway… also in this pattern, the partial negatives and partial positives of oxygen and hydrogen :)
I drew this so long ago and forgot to post it but HERE IT IS woot woot

I taste a liquor never brewed —
From Tankards scooped in Pearl —
Not all the Vats upon the Rhine
Yield such an Alcohol!
Inebriate of Air — am I —
And Debauchee of Dew —
Reeling — thro endless summer days —
From inns of Molten Blue —
When “Landlords” turn the drunken Bee
Out of the Foxglove’s door —
When Butterflies — renounce their “drams” —
I shall but drink the more!
Till Seraphs swing their snowy Hats —
And Saints — to windows run —
To see the little Tippler
Leaning against the — Sun —
New drawing - no title yet, but based off the poem The Idea of Order at Key West by Wallace Stevens, read here. :D
